More than believers
Shebbear Circuit Mission Statement
The members of the Shebbear Circuit, working in partnership with other Christians in the light of Christ and in the strength of the Holy Spirit, have a commitment to:-
• Make and Nurture Disciples;
• Maintain God’s presence in this rural community;
• Preach the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ in word and deed, that all people may discover hope and purpose for their lives.
In our Services we worship Jesus as Lord and Saviour, and the Word of God as revealed in the Bible is preached, so that we might know the love and power of God, and share that love and power with one another and our community.
This website is available for the Christian community in the Shebbear Circuit area of North West Devon and for friends of the Circuit from further afield.
N.B. As from September 2011 the Bideford Circuit and Shebbear Circuit will become one Circuit in the Methodist Church. It will be called the Bideford and Shebbear Circuit - one of many re-groupings for mission across the country.
Our commitments:
Making and Nurturing Disciples - an urgent imperative recently recognised and added to our Mission Statement (see panel on the left). What should we be doing?
Maintaining a Rural Ministry Team - Who are they? Where are they working?
Fulfilling Our Calling to Unity and Rural Mission - How are we doing?
